THE SOURCES OF THE SELE

The waters collected in Mount Cervialto (which represents a sufficiently independent hydrogeological basin) flow towards Caposele. Right here, near Mount Paflagone, these underground waters feed the Sanità spring (405 meters above sea level) in a southeast direction, and are then gathered in water veins in the riverbed (Tredogge spring) at 415 meters above sea level, thus giving rise to the flow of the Sele River, which continues all the way to Paestum. THE PICENTINI MOUNTAINS PARK

The Picentini Mountains Regional Park Authority is the managing body of the Park, responsible for the active institutional protection of the heritage, values, and vocation of the Picentini Mountains.

The establishment of the Picentini Mountains Regional Park is provided for by Regional Law No. 33 of September 1, 1993, which incorporates the national law No. 394 of December 6, 1991, the so-called “framework law” on protected areas, for the Campania region.

RIVER PARK

The Sele River Park, a protected area dedicated to the river, where, thanks to a series of pedestrian and cycling paths, you can enjoy relaxing walks and nature excursions to discover the river’s flora and fauna. Along the path, which starts from the Tredogge area, there are benches and rest areas.

In the “Bosco Difesa” area, you will find various tall trees such as Turkey oak, hornbeam, and beech, whose shade offers a place to relax and rest in the picnic areas of Piano Panniello, or enjoy healthy walks.
