The Ring of the 7 Fountains of Caposele unfolds in the green and authentic heart of Irpinia.

It is an 18 km route to be covered in 7 hours with an elevation gain of 980 meters: it crosses beech and fir forests, wild oregano fields, steep trails characterized by dirt and rocky paths with a breathtaking 360-degree view of all of Irpinia, the Matese, Basilicata, Calabria with the Pollino mountains, and the arid plains of Puglia.

The trail climbs along the historic fountains that, from the Cervialto mountain range (with its 1,809 meters in altitude, one of the highest peaks in Campania), gather the rushing waters into Piazza Sanità in the town, thus giving rise to the Apulian Aqueduct, built at the beginning of the 20th century (described by the poet Giuseppe Ungaretti as “the engineering work for which the world has no equal”) and still today one of the longest in the world (the springs, the 0 km mark of the aqueduct, can be visited).
